Between May 2025 and May 2026, the Narra Tree was home to a talented mix of creators and educators: an author, a ceramicist, a weaver, a painter, a nail artist, a speech therapist. The Narra Tree was also a meeting space for NDIS support groups, family support services, creative workshops, and after school activities.
As wonderful as it was, I found over time that my venture was not sustainable with the population size of our small town, despite the creativity evident in the people I have met at the Narra Tree. As I write, the property is being sold.
I still dream of having a creative space in town for studios, workshops, and retail. Just not as an individual, but as a member of an Arts & Crafts Co-operative.
If you are interested the establishment of a local Arts & Crafts Co-operative, and/or finding a shared space in town for studios and/or workshops and/or retail, please get in touch with me, DeborahSchielZaini@gmail.com or 0481 351 248.
